  • Welcome to my blog!

    Hey!
Thanks for checking out my blog. It is place where I like to post weddings, engagements, and other fun things that happen in my life! Being a photographer is the BEST job ever! I get to photograph life's best moments all over the the world. Take a look around and see what makes me happy.

Kristen and Thomas: Julian engagement session

I don’t have the words to say how excited I am for Kristen and Thomas! They are my kind of couple…

We all agreed on doing a sunrise shoot, which is great, but for some reason the spot we decided on was over an hour and a half away. TOTALLY worth it!!!! Sunrises are a funny thing. They tend to be short and sweet and this one was no different. Our window of color was about 3 minutes and we made it count.

After our little trek back to car, we went to Denny’s and made our way to the second location. We hiked around some of the most gorgeous scenery in the mountains of San Diego. We had so much fun!!!!!! I can’t wait until October rolls around for their wedding!

Cliff and Emily: Dos Pueblos Ranch wedding

Yesterday, I had the privilege to second shoot for a good friend of mine, Austin Curtis. He usually shoots with his wife but they just had their 3rd baby girl a few weeks ago so I went up to Santa Barbara to fill in. I’m sure glad I did because I got to meet Cliff and Emily….

They got married at Dos Pueblos Ranch and they put a lot of work into making it look stunning with some incredible lighting. Great couple and I was excited that I could be there to help Austin and partake in Cliff and Emily’s big day.

Sam and Karissa Wells: Fallbrook wedding

Holy smokes, what a fun day I had yesterday shooting Sam and Karaissa’s wedding! I’ve actually only known Karissa without Sam being around because Sam is an incredible and very busy photographer himself, so to see them together was amazing. Karissa came alive at her wedding. Moments like that are the reason I do what I do. I get to see people at their happiest moments! These are a few of my favorites from the night.

My bag of tricks

As the wedding season gets going this year I thought I would share what gear I use. Each piece of gear has a specific purpose and creates a different look. I shoot with fast lenses to allow me to shoot in low light and shallow depth of field to really make my clients pop off the page. I love to create contrast through out the day by using off camera lighting to mix things up.

gear:

all canon-

5dmkIII

200mm f1.8

135mm f2.0

50mm f 1.2

24mm 1.4

16-35mm f2.8

2x 600EX-RT speedlights

speelight transmitter

zzzzzzillons of CF cards and SD cards

I love having the tools to achieve creative freedom to give my clients photos that they WANT to hang on the wall.

Alex and Kristen: Carlsbad wedding

Everyone meet the Galloways.

These two love birds are the kind of people I love to photograph. They couldn’t wait to get to spend the rest of their lives together. The little smiles they exchanged were so genuine, it seemed like they were they only two in the world for that moment. I’m so excited to share these and be a part of their special day.
